It seems that my problem was language related.
Our server is installed with an english OS and our workstations have french OS.
Both french OS works, and both english OS works also.
This HP Designjet T1100ps is the 1st one that gave me problems with cross-languages.
Also, I downloaded the...
Hi,
We installed a new HP Designjet T1100ps 24" in January and shortly after we created some printing shortcuts on the server, and it was fine until july... I tried to add new printing shortcuts on the server but it wouldn't save them properly (not the options I had selected when I pressed the...
Well it seems I was able to find 1 way to solve the problem, I just had to rename the local "Administrateurs" group to "Administrators" on the workstation.
Now it's no longer giving me an error.
I forgot to add:
the workstation is Windows XP sp3 (french OS)
the server is Windows 2000 Server (English OS)
we have a Windows 2000 Mixed mode
The GPO was created with GPMC on a Windows XP (english OS)
1 way I have found to do something once is to look for a flag that is created the 1st time it is done.
I used VBScript to do that tho.
I looked if a file existed on the target computer,
then if it wasn't there I would do whatever needed to be done and after I created an empty file on the target...
Hi,
I had to restrain the accounts that could log on a production computer to just a few accounts: <username>, <ITGroup>, and Administrators
But I'm getting an error everytime the GPO is refreshed on the computer in the event viewer. Event id: 1202 source: SceCli and event id: 1085 source...
Hi,
First I have to say I know next to nothing about Crystal Report. I'm only doing a search for someone that doesn't have the time to look.
Is there a way in Crystal Report to be aware of the logged on user? in Windows, we have the %username% that gives us the logged on user. Is there a...
I heard quite a few horror story about renaming an account.
I talked about this with other co-workers and they said that they already did it without problems.
let's hope I have the same luck that they had.
Thanks,
Hi,
We have a user who is leaving for a year and we have someone else replacing her.
I was told that she is going to use the same user account as the person leaving, but they want her to have her own email address plus the other user's emails.
But that new user also have to appear in the GAL...
I have only been able to find 1 way to "fix" the problem with the date.
I change the regional settings to English US and then it works.
I called the technical support for 1 of the program and they said that the problem has been reported and it can come from 1 windows update and some others from...
Hi,
It doesn't really apply to my situation, because we're trying to put the data into a new excel file.
So far we're having this of problem with more then 1 program who exports data to excel.
From 1 application, the data we get in excel is the time, in seconds, which has past since the year...
Hi,
I just installed the Service pack 3 on the couple computers here and the finance tester is reporting an error.
When he opens an excel file it gives him the error: "File error: data may have been lost"
Most of the data was imported from Microsoft Dynamics, and it also has macros.
Not all...
Our server is on a 1gig connection,
I'll check out the programs at Solarwinds to monitor the network connection. It seems like we get tons of information in there, I'm a bit afraid I won't be able to find the information I'm looking for in there.
1 more thing I need to find on that server is...
I'm looking for a program that will tell me what is the current bandwith utilization (%) on the network adapter.
With the performance monitor included in Windows, I can see my current bandwith, but it does not tell me how busy the adapter is (if I put the bytes/total and packets /sec it's not...
