Is it possible to recover from a Linux backup server "down" to a Windows 2000/2003 client? I am able to recover data when browsing on the Windows client server but not from Linux server to Windows client.

I have a share on a Windows NT server that I want to output the share permissions on the folder to a file. Is it possible to output the users/groups in the share on both the sharing and security tab?

I do not know if I am using the right forum but.... I am looking for a script to poll a directory for a file, example.txt, and if the script finds the file ftp the file to another directory.

Is a level 1 backup equivalent to a differential backup?

Currently our backup schedule is incrementals six days a week and a full backup on the seventh. I want to change this to a differential (L1) six days a week and a full on the seventh. I understand that my differentials will be longer and larger but I like the protection of the differentials...

Maverick, all of the problems I have ever had with Windows clients have been DNS related. When this occurs I usually add their entry to the hosts file on the server. But on this particular client I added the name of the server into the client hosts file, and it worked. Thanks for help.

Maverick, thanks for the information. I was able to complete a manual save from the client but I am not able to run a scheduled backup from the server. AG100, the error guide points to a space problem but both the client and server have plenty of disk space. Thanks.
