Hi Franz,
the problems are solved.
As mentioned in the posts before, a random numbergenerator is needed for the ssl encryption business. The Patch-description said, the included file is /kernel/drv/sparcv9/random. So I scanned the system for a "random" file and found one in /kernel/drv/random...
Hi Franz,
it was a good idea to try both, df -k and du -sdk (I added "d" as well)
The results:
du -sdk / ---> 75803
df -k / ---> 75813
----
du -sdk /tmp --> 336
du -sdk /tmp --> 376
But no difference with the following:
du -sdk /usr --> 728738
df -k /usr --> 728738
Just for...
Hello Sun-gurus,
this question should perhaps belong into another forum, but as I have the problems only with solaris (V 8), I try to post it here.
As I need to monitor Disk-space , Cpu activity and other things that the sun agent can't provide, I disabled Suns snmpdx agent and installed the...
Hello out there,
I have solved the problem by downloading and compiling the sources. After that, I followed the advice from 1), writing a start-script.
All exept 1 snmpd command work fine now.
The 1 comand is snmpdf, which should be the snmpd-equivalent to df -k
I have different results...
Hi folks,
I look for help from somebody who has experience with installing
compiled binaries.
Until now I've worked with other *ixes but not with Solaris.
My problem is, I need to install net-snmp, as the Sun-agent isn't of much use with respect to disk-usage etc. My Box is an Ultra1 with...
Thanks for your help , Glenn. I found the patch in the response-center.
You really took some pressure off me. I think all the power-patches refer to the MPE/iX, and consist of some number of patches for the various SW-products .
Regards,
Fred
Hello out there,
I just took over responsibility for one of our remaining HP 3000 systems.I must admit, that MPE is new to me. Our former Admin there left me a note, that I have to get powerpatch 1 for turbostore. The OS-Version is 7.5. (The patch will be installed by someone else, but...
Hello,
I need to monitor a HP-UX (V11.0) System via a non-HP Network-Monitoring System (Nagios).Openview is for this rather small site too expensive.
When I do a "snmpwalk" on the HP-Box, I see the MIB-2 Objects, as well as the "private.enterprises..42 .." OID`s,
which are...
Hi gurus,
I have openssh installed and managed that dsa (rsa) authentication takes place without asking the passwd-phrase for RSA resp. DSA.
My problem is, that the normal account-password is still being asked when establishing a ssh-connection. After typing in the login-password, the...
Hi admins,
I'd like to administrate my printer as a nonroot user.
I have created a new user (lpadmin) with the group-member-
ship of lp. When I type in "lpsched" (as user lpadmin),
I get notified by the system, that lpsched is reserved
for administrators only.
What must I do , to be...
Hi network gurus,
I have must get into SNMP-Networkmanagement quickly, so
I have installed and set up NAGIOS (successor of Netsaint) on my linux-box and can view the Nagios-configured Nodes
on the network.
To avoid misinterpretations of terms and functions, I'd
like to ask the experienced...
Follow up:
finally I solved the problem, at least as the login problem is concerned.
The Problem was, that the HP-Box was already sending the dtgreet (CDE-Loginbox) to the X-Terminal, but it could not be displayed there because of missing fonts.
The solution was to copy the required fonts from...
Hi ,
I have a problem for which I couldn't find the solution
yet.
I run HP-UX 11.00 on a D220 with a Text-Console.
I run a X-Terminal Software on a Linux Box, from which I want to connect to a HP-UX Server (D220 with Text-Console Terminal). I can see the CDE-Loginbox exactly the same way
as...
