Well! , if you use Raid 0=striped you can loose all your data also if you got an onboard raid controller that fails and you do not know how to move (and configure) your raid drives to another controller , but as a cheap solution for Video recording and editing a 2 drive raid 0 solution is OK and...
P.S.
Ofcourse you probably could boot from the RAID , I just meant that if you needed the drive for seperate storage you would need another device to boot from and run your files from....

A gigabyte per minute must be wrong - I use recording in AVI and that takes "only" around 14 GB per hour in 720X576 ....

I don't know the specific board , but many new 5 and 6channel boards uses some inputs/outputs for more than one task . Please check your board and manual to see if what you are attempting needs setting of jumpers on the motherboard !!!!

There has been deviced all sorts of tricks to get around that...
But I'll kindly suggest that you buy your own new copy of M.S.Windows XP (SP1 or better) or buy a used Win. 2000 Pro. , M.S. will support that some years still (Service packs)...

First of all I think it's a very bad idea to install windows by using another board and system than that on which it is going to be used. There is so many ways this can get to fail...
Secondly , Winddows NT and 2000 and so on is not to be toyed with as they got power to mess up your harddisk...
DumDum seems to have forgotten how computers just get's trashed and sold and how many companies just removes the hardrive and trash the rest. Anyway why spend time turning on system to change password prior to sales. Ohh and by the way - Do you give YOUR passwords away ????

Please check how the IRQ handling of the "PNP - PCI" section of BIOS is set. I can't from the top of my head remember all the reserved IRQ numbers and their specific assignment but IRQ's 9 , 10 and 11 should usually be free for PNP .
You might try to load BIOS default values first ...

An adapter for an external Harddrive or just some thing to make it possible to copy file to your laptop ???
If you just wants files copyed you can do it through the parallel port , seriel port , USB or Netcard with a suitable cable (PC to PC) and a program like FastLynx ...
