Hi,
I have a cd here that I can view via Windows Explorer. Directories & files are listed like normal, and I can do searches.
But when I try to open or copy a file the error msg is - Incorrect paramater.
On a friend's suggestion, tried Bad Copy Pro, which has 3 levels of data recovery. Tried...
Hi
For the longest time, my merges weren't working as well. I used the mergecat.exe utility to manually merge cat files to the database. Went through a lot of troubleshooting - replacing the database, re-installing the software, removing r*.* from the Database folder etc.
I've finally...
Hi
I'm testing backups using ArcServe 2000 AE (v.7 build 1086),to back up data to a local drive.
The odd thing is that some jobs (regardless of whether they're backup, restore or merge jobs) just won't run unless the job,db & tape engines are stopped & restarted. There isn't even a job log...
Hi everyone,
I gots me a problem.
I've switched from 5-day GFS full backups to 5-day GFS differential with full backup on Fridays. The job uses a media pool.
The problem with the new setting is that ArcServe seems to be confused about what the last day of the month is. Instaed of...
Hi,
Please dont laugh when you read this. i was told by the CA techs that in order to derive the actual throughput rate for my backup jobs, I was to add 200 to the throughput rate reported in the log file.
Anybody agree?
I had contacted arcserve with my problem, and they suggested applying SP3 and the following patch (dated 18-Mar-02).

I have been unable to get successful brick level backups of our Exchange 5.5 database using ARcserve Exchange agent. The errors are as follows:

After I tried a...
Whereever arcServe is installed the components (Client, server, db agents) need to be registered with CA. To do that, use the CA Registration program - Register IT. This should have been installed along with ArcServe in a separate directory.

Hi,
I filtered the job to exclude file pattern ~*.*, but it attempted to backup some files with names starting ~.
Could someone please let me know if I entered the instruction wrong.
Thanks.
I'm unable to access the following link:
http://support.ca.com/premium/unicenter/implementationcd_2_0/cdrom/Firewalls/doc/caports.htm
Does anyone have access to this document? I'm looking for detailed info on what ports need to be open for ARcserve to back up through a firewall.
Thanks a lot!
Hi
I'm running ArcServe 2000 on NT, with Seagate AIT drive & Sony 35/70GB tapes.
Can someone please help me understand why registry backups are always larger than the registry file itself?
I find in the Backup log summary, that a server's registry size - total size (disk) -is 14mb, but the...
Hi
We use ArcServe 2000 with Seagate AIT drive - STA6701W, the tape capacity is 35GB/70GB compressed.
Lately, the job has started asking for 2 tapes, the initial error message reads: The tape drive is having problems writing data. No data has been lost, but there has been a reduction in the...
