Hi,
Can anyone recommend a low cost, low profile, 3D, linux friendly graphics card for an HP D530s desktop PC?
The inbuilt graphics card is only 2D. The card *must* be low profile. (I'm not bothered about using proprietary device drivers for the graphics card.)
Thanks for any pointers.
Does anyone know if the Lenovo USB port replicator is Linux compatible?

Any experience of the device with Linux is appreciated.
plamb - were you using fixed IP addresses or DHCP?
The HMC that Ranjit and I are adding will be using DCHP (configured on a different subnet as the private network on the existing HMC).
Won't all of our secondary HMC ports have defaulted to 192.168.3.147 as their DHCP request would have timed...
'flash copy' is not an AIX term I've heard of - sounds a bit Solaris-like to me.
Are you trying to back up rootvg? Why not take a mksysb backup to tape, file or preferably NIM server?
If you could be more specific in what you are trying to do, more folks will dive in and help out I'm sure.
Hi,
I have recently installed SuSE 10 on my IBM Thinkpad R40E. I have an external USB keyboard which is in itself a USB hub - the mouse plugs into the keyboard and there is a spare USB port on the keyboard for another device.
At boot time the integral laptop keyboard works fine and so does the...
Hi,
I work in an environment where our AIX servers perform mission cricial roles so we have HACMP and N+1 arrangements.
We are now deploying various pSeries with the VIO server - just using virtual SCSI initially but later virtual and shared Ethernet. No issues so far.
IBM is strongly...
Hi,
I heard that some folks within IBM have achieved this - using 600E latops for example and I think v3 HMC code. I have tried the same thing myself but this fails early on in the install stage dropping me into a DOS type environment which I cannot troubleshoot my way out. I was using a 600E...
Hi,
My /etc/hosts.deny file contains:
ALL: ALL
Jim - actually I do have
telnet stream tcp nowait root /usr/local/bin/tftpd telnetd -a
in /etc/inetd.conf ( I made a typo when appending to the forum).
I am just using /etc/hosts - no DNS or NIS.
This is really frustrating - do any others...
Jim - thanks for your continued assistance.
We do not have a NIS environment and so there is no FQDN.
The /etc/ined.conf line for telnet reads:
telnet stream tcp nowait root /usr/local/bin/tftpd telnet -a
I altered 'tcp6' to be 'tcp'.
It just does not seems to recognise the root@host syntax...
