Mike,
Thanks for pointing out that you had that similar experience and directing me back to your original posting. Although I read your suggestion for the array and saw that you said the more records the slower the application ran, I totally missed that you said you experienced the 'freeze'...
Al, doing the tests you describe is exactly how I found the problem. Believe me I spent well over two full-time days to pin point the problem, never guessing that I would find what I did. If I deleted just ONE record from the table, doesn't matter which one, it works fine. Add it back, and it...
Al, I was able to duplicate the problem here in a single user environment with XP HOME. They are a multi-user system and it happens on every computer and they are running various versions of Windows. Each person runs their own executible and only the data and reports and classes reside on the...
NOTE: I originally listed this problem but incorrectly reference VFP 6.0! It is in VFP 5.0a.
I have a combo list box on a form using a single field from table as the rowsource. Client called to complain that the screen was 'freezing'. After two days of looking and testing for every...
The table is a customer file on the network...the company is a mfg of prototypes and mainly work for the big three so it's not like their customer base is going to grow and grow...I foresee maybe two to four records a year for additional billing locations and errors...
I thought I had updated...
I have a combo list box on a form using a single field from table as the rowsource. Client called to complain that the screen was 'freezing'. After two days of looking and testing for every conceivable source I found that if the table used by the combo box had less than 445 records it worked...
Mike,
I am running XP, however my customer isn't. Wouldn't the customers default setting for their dot-matrix printer need to be set to the proper form size? Or can I just use the drivers for my own printer to set up a 7" length size and it will work fine on their site despite what their...
Mike, thanks but unfortunately the driver does not allow custom sizes...There are many to choose from but they do not have the dimensions listed next to them and many of them I've never heard of. I do not plan on clicking on each and everyone of them. I guess what I was hoping was I'd get...
I have a client with a CITIZEN X-230 dot matrix printer (needed to print 4 part shippers)... The form is 8 1/2" X 7". I can easily set the Form length to 7" for the Printer itself, however, for creating the VFP report, I need to choose a 'paper size' which will be 7" in...
I inherited a client who was having problems with their Accounting system. After a bit of research I found that one of their tables was marked 'Not a database'. I ran HF.EXE (which is a header fixer utility) on it. I was then able to open it. I 'appended blank' and entered some data. I added...
I don't know if this is a visual foxpro report, but if it is you may want to edit the report and be certain that you don't have the table opened in the data environment.
Here's the start of an idea as I haven't fully thought it through, but it might help
Try creating as many duplicate tables as you have records.
Be sure to have a blank record in each.
