    Newbie questions on EM

The event management will pick up the most specific message. for example. if you define %CATD_I_060* and %CATD_I_060, SNMPTRAP:*, the event management will pick up the latter. To find out, inactive all the messages start with %CATD_I_060, and leave %CATD_I_060* active, you will be able to test it.

Re: I had a msgid of %CATD_I_060* and that didn't seem to pick it up, do I need to be more specific with it such as in your example? %CATD_I_060* will definitely pick it up. To test it, you could define a action (e.g. sendkeep) in red color. You will see the message in red color. I would guess...

    2dmap-unplaced objects

Suppose you have a right setting for SNMP. Delete the parent object first, then delete the unispace (including all child objects). Discover the parent object first, then open node view, do a discovery.

    2dmap-unplaced objects

The reason that the unispace is placed in unplaced objects folder is that the parent is missing. Go to Managed Object Notebook\inclusion to check this. Solution: 1. Delete this unispace. 2. Rediscover the object.

    Open 2D Map

Thanks for your input. catng2d /MProduction_View is not the solution that I am looking for, as this command opens the customized 2-D Map (on the local machine) that was saved in the \TNG\MAP directory. If I make changes in the CORE, the remote 2D map will not be opened using catng2d...

    Open 2D Map

How to open 2D map using command? When I issue the command catng2d, it will popup a window to let me choose the repository. Is it possible to issue the command including the repository (like caugui conlog /server=servername)?
