Tanechka, Make sure there are no links by the same name in the directory where you are trying to create the link

try this command to show you all the files in / more then 10Megs after you login Find . -size +10000000c > /tmp/files10m

Michael if I wanted to get rid of all the processes I could just reboot the box. Not something you want to do in a 24/7 operation.

I am conserned about this, because when the load on the system is high, it slows everything down, one cause for this is a process in a loop that is consumoing allot of resources.

Would any one have a script to check the Uptime periodiclly, and email a message if the Uptime gets above a certain point? Thanks in Advance

Greg, Thanks, I tried running the script but having problem running it, spits this out when i do usage: last [ -number ] [ -f file] [ -R ] [ name ... ] [ tty ... ]

I need to get a list of users that have not loged in more then 6 months ago, I though that maybe I can check the .profile of all the users, since .profile changes its date when a user logs in. Would any one have a script that I can use.
