    Wireless network with SuSE 9.1

Please anyone... any suggestions at all?

    Wireless network with SuSE 9.1

I think it may just be a setting on the Centrino / Dell driver that the ipw2100 driver (ipw2100.sf.net) doesn't have. There was a slider or you could tell it to automatically choose (the only way to keep the connection was to disable the auto and give it full power). I went to /etc/wlan which...

    Wireless network with SuSE 9.1

I have SuSE 9.1 installed on a Dell 8600 which has an Intel PRO/Wireless 2100A wireless adapter. It installed fine, but every once in a while, the connection drops out. kwifimanager shows that I am still connected to the router, but there is no traffic between the two. The only thing that...

    Desktop on another comp

Right now, my setup consists of me having to use VNC whenever I need to use another desktop. What I would like is to have my server computer store desktop settings, files, etc. and when I login, like in Novell NetWare, but my wallpaper, icons and everything appear on a remote computer. Is...

    I have a D-Link DI-514 wireless rou

No authentication scheme was installed, so I ignored that part, and I also tried switching the channel from six. Nothing that I have tried have worked. I have tried disabling DHCP, uninstalling NetBIOS, and everything that I can think of that could interfere. I did notice something that is...

    I have a D-Link DI-514 wireless rou

I have a D-Link DI-514 wireless router that I use to have wireless access to my network (cable is coming in a month, not here yet). I also have a D-Link DWL-122 802.11b USB wireless adapter. The 122 cannot connect to my router unless I set it to ad-hoc (which it is not), and even then it only...

    XP Control 98 Over Network

I've got a weird one for you. Whenever I have a shared folder from my 98 machine on my XP machine, the mouse controls the 98 machine, but I cannot see anything, so it is not like VNC. At least I figured that out, at first I thought it was a trojan.

    Read WinXP from Win98

Thank you so much!!!! It worked perfectly. The Nettcpip.inf was the problem.

    Read WinXP from Win98

ipconfig /release = IP Address for adapter Local Area Connection has already been released. ipconfig /renew = An error occured while renewing interface Local Area Connection : the system cannot find the file specified.

That did not work. Any other ideas?

    Read WinXP from Win98

NetBEUI does need to be there to have the network enabled because before I installed it, neither computer could see each other. No simple file sharing is not enabled ipconfig /all = 0.0.0.0 ipconfig /release = IP Address for adapter Local Area Connection has already been released. ipconfig...

    Read WinXP from Win98

On the xp machine, NetBEUI is enabled for the network to function, file and print sharing is enabled, and it is told to get the IP address automatically.

    Read WinXP from Win98

That is not the problem. I can see the XP machine from 98, but it says that I don't have "enough permission to access resource". That is why I tried making the user account.

    ICS Problem

I have three computers on a home network, Windows 98, Red Hat, and one with two partitions: Windows XP, and Windows ME:(. The Windows 98 acts as a server in that it has my dial-up connection (I live in the country, no broadband) and it runs Windows' internet connection sharing to feed the other...
