I have a Windows 2000 Server that is missing most if not all file associations.
For example, all the options under Administrative tools have the default icon and brings up the "Open with" dialogue when double-clicked. Anyone have any suggestions?
Good question. This is the first time using Outlook Express. This machine is running XP Pro. It was fully patched before trying to use Outlook Express. Very strange problem.
I can't edit the text for a new e-mail message. The editor area isn't active. Can't click on it or tab to it after putting in the To: and Subject: The same thing happens when I try to respond to a message. Does anyone have any ideas?
We have a Windows 2000 server running active directory. We have a DNS server set up. Our internal domain name is the same as our public domain name.
The problem is that we can't browse our own web page from our LAN. We can browse everything else on the Internet just fine...

Yes this was a system state and then file restore.
I just got off the phone with Microsoft. They had me reinstall Internet Explorer. All problems solved.
This is one of a few weird problems after a restore from HD failure:
1. In add/remove programs, you can only see the icons of install programs, and the last used on. There are no program descriptions
2. In Explorer, you can't type anything into any web text fields.

Now if I can just get NAV Server to update. I thought this might have something to do with it, but it still isn't working. NAV Server and ISA are running on the same computer...

Thanks for the suggestion, but same result. I can use a browser to go to other www sites such as Google, Symantec, etc. I'm kind of stumped on this one. I think this must have something to do with the proxy server. Does the command prompt FTP program need more information to work...
Using ISA as proxy server. FTP is allowed.
Command line FTP fails on "open ftp.symantec.com" with "host unreachable"
If I browse to the same ftp site with Explorer, I have no problem. Explorer is configured to use the proxy setting for FTP.
