Do you have an external tape drive for your mail system? If so you should shut it down and INI the pbx. While the PBX recovers from INI power on the external tape drive and the links should establish. I have had this happen with power outages where the pbx recovers first, then the tape drive...
I think my baby is prior to that. I have newer Opt11's with the admin and tools levels, but this one doesn't ask for a user id, just the password. Is there a way around it? Right now I am scurrying through paperwork trying to find the keycodes or the original install tape...
You need to set up the modem using the following:
1. Turn off power to modem and set all dipswitches to the down position.
2. Connect to your laptop via DB/9 - DB/25 cable and power on.
3. Setup a new connection via Hyperterminal and set the baud rate at the speed you want the PBX connection to...

Hi,
I have had an issue with my VT for a while now and was hoping for some help. I can log into my Opt 11 no problem, but when I type AX to reach Meridian Mail, the screen goes blank. I access mail, just have no visual response. It used to work with a modem tty, but has now migrated to it...
The pad values you have are Nortel's defaults for Pad Category 1 DTI/PRI values. According to the NTP's, the pad prompts above are as follows:
PRI = 1.5 Mb/s PRI/DTI trunk
PRI2 = 2.0 Mb/s PRI/DTI trunk
The defaults for those are Rx=0 and Tx=0, just like you have. Hope this helps!
On the Meridian line you need a music route and trunk. Then you need to allow music on your voice trunk routes. Not sure if the Norstar is the same as I have minimal time on them. Check your software feature guides if you have them. Good luck!
