Marcs41, thanks I read that too.
It states that it is caused by a mailbox exceeding its' limits and I know this is not the case because I can successfully make the changes on another server, the error occurs on all mailboxes regardless of the size, when the problem exists, and after a reboot...

This is only seen by the one user we are forwarding mail to through the custom recipient.
When this user OWAs to check mail this problem is not evident.
The addresses he is seeing in the FROM field are not in any way valid for these changed addresses.
As for your last question...
How could...
We have a user here that needs his email forwarded to an outside account. To do this we set it up using a custom recipient with the smtp account. Then modifying the original account to include this recipient.
This is how MS explains it as well as tek-tips...
I forgot a few things.
This is NT4.0 with SP6a and the SAN is a Dell 650F with one LUN a 630F. These are managed with QLogic.
It appears that all the data is present as noone has complained about missing files or folders and the Veritas BE backups appear the right size.
Thanks
Hi,
I've run into a big problem.
We have a SAN here that experienced a power outage. When it was brought back up the shares on the drive were gone. Meaning those drives did not exist in Disk Administrator, just raw space. They were remade by reapplying a drive letter to the raw disk space and...
In the IMS under connections| message filtering you can filter by domain or user. You should be able to enter the @domain.com and restrict any emails coming that domain from delivery without sending a NDR.
I haven't used this so don't know any sublteties to this util but it is provided.
I've never had to restore any files other than IS and DS (with logs if necessary) to recover an exchange 5.5 server.
As long as you have a restore server with the same version of Exchange and same service pack with System Attendant running Veritas can restore the server using only the IS and DS...
Hey everyone,
I'm getting event ids 270 and 290 showing up on all my exchange servers (nt4.o sp6s, exchange 5.5 sp4) Also queues are building in the IMS outbound awaiting conversion que with 0Byte messages on the Bridghead with event id 3038 and 4115.
I've tried several fixes that MS...
Okay, 1 problem solved.
I manually moved the dir.edb to c: and edited the registry key "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeDS\Parameters" to reflect the change rebooted and it came up.
The problem now is that only freed up 1G on d: so the problem will eventually happen...
Hey all,
I have exchange 5.5 sp4 running on nt4 sp6a.
The setup is logs on c: and dbs d:. The problem is the dbs grew 500M in 3 days and I didn't notice. Now there is 5.4M free on d: and the MTA service stopped itself and won't restart. I can't run optimizer to move the dbs because it gets an...
Okay, I brought the server down, removed the WINS entries (although they appeared the same as all the other exchange servers) and removed the computer account from Server Manager (checked all the DCs and it was gone).
Then re-added it to the domain and it came back the same way.
The exact same...
I may have inadvertently used the wrong term here. I added this server as a member, the same install as all my other exchange servers.
That's the problem, the server shows in Srvmgr as TYPE "Windows NT Workstation or Server" but only when viewing all not when the list is filtered to...
Try reinstalling Sp3.
It sounds like the backup account has lost administrative rights on the servers. If it is backing up exchange servers the account needs to have Exchange Admin rights and local admin rights. The loss of the DC that the event ID is pointing to may account for this.
Check...
Really?
Server Manager here shows 52 of the 53 servers on the domain and states whether it is Primary, Backup or Server under view servers. The only one that doesn't show up is this Exchange Server.
