I am copying all my MP3's and movies, games to a new drive, and wondering if I might overheat something from so much copying in one shot. The files are being read from a 7200 RPM Maxtor, and are going to a 5400 RPM WD. I have the PC case off too.

It turns out that there was a memory/cpu speed problem too, reduced the system speed, and removed the SCSI card too, and it completed setup. The CD and HDD are still on the same cable, but are working ok for now,(if I have trouble burning CD's, then I'll try moving the burner to...
I am trying to setup a new system , athlon 2000+, with dual boot win98, and winXP.... But I can't get win98 setup to run (it needs to be installed first, THEN XP --I know that one already)

What's better for a hard drive motor, to run constantly, or to allow it to spin down when idle?. I have a 7200 rpm Maxtor drive in a PC that is always on, with an idle setting of 10 mins. Depending on what I'm doing, or some programs are doing, this means at least a dozen start/stops in a day...
Will Win 98SE be compatible with an Asus motherboard with hardware RAID? I'm going to be upgrading soon, and considering the A7V266E-RAID with an AMD Thunderbird 1.3Ghz CPU. The last thing I want is BSOD's from "unknown hardware issues" [pc3]
