    I have a new HP laptop with Vista Home pro. I am trying to install programs or edit the start-up and Vista keeps saying I am not an adminisrator. There is only on accout and control panels says its an admin (only one account it has to have admin rights). Any ideas?

    Thanks, are the SATA drivers specific to Dell or generic should work? Dell BIOS is very generic, I dont see an option to change it to native mode..

    BIOS Keeps Auto-recovering

    Every time i boot up I get - BIOS auto-revovering. This happens thru 12-15 cycles of recovery , poweroff and restart until the BIOS loads.     I just did a MB replacement and XP reinstall. All smooth except this problem. CD and DVDs with data are blank in explorer and othere third party apps. CD media is fine and checked on another PC. Music CDs play with no problem. Any ideas on this one? CDROM is a NEC_2200

    NTLDR is missing!!!

    I had the same problem and mine was caused by the BIOS looking at the wrong HD to boot from. Simple check but see if your BIOS has a "HD Boot Order" section.
