I think you also need an Allow Branch Office > Internet rule? Doesn't it differentiate between Ext/Internet...?
Also might need to add a static route to your VPN router at branch office telling it to forward everything (0.0.0.0) to your ISA server.

Inded a DNS issue, assumably when you are assigining IP addresses via DHCP, DNS servers would also be issued? But when assigning static addresses DNS addresses are not being assigned.
Try adding them in manually on the client in VPN properties > Networking > TCP/IP and see if you can connect to...
As these guys say above, this should be fine.
When a machine boots up, it gets its IP address from your local router, and contacts what it knows is the closest domain controller (the quickest one to respond) which will always be the one on the LAN, not VPN.
Exchange is overkill for so few...
Hi There,
Why have you turned on the firewall on this server, is it an external facing server?
Thanks,
Mike

HI There,
Please can you clarify exactly what users can and cannot do when only members of a workgroup?
If you want them to be able to access network shares, they will not authenticate autmoatically as they are not members of the domain.
Please clarify.

Hahaha....very good, closet sufferers! :)
I personally kept the background on a UNC share and it all works hunky dory.
I can't imagine why this hasn't been fixed, I experienced it on all spec machines in different offices on different backgrounds, I just can't imagine the problem is anything...
Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to suggest an interesting backup scenario I have stumbled across whilst using Windows Server 2003 <R2>.
Windows Server 2003 R2 now introduces DFS-R which allows DFS clients (clients browsing to network shares as \\domain.local\share rather than \\server\share).
All...
BMP's will definitely increase your image size, and didn't solve my problem, it didn't appear active desktop was actually the root of my issue.
I think you'll find this issue occurs because of the stretch process if you are telling windows to stretch the wallpaper to the users resolution...
Hi Everyone,
Very odd and frustrating query here for me.
I have an SBS 2003 Standard network looking like this:
SITE A
"SBS Server / DNS / Exchange"
"Additonal DC / Application Server"
"Terminal Server"
"File Server / DHCP Server"
SITE B
"DC / File Server / DNS / DHCP"
SITE C
No Server...
OK - Update on this one.
I have successfully implemented DFS-R on my SBS2003 Standard domain.
All works well, I have a 2003 R2 server at both sites and they replicate files like a beauty, all that was necessary was to upgrade the AD schema to 2003 R2.
Recommended!

I found a way of fixing this on my network I wanted to update everyone on in case they are still experiencing issues.
For me, I set the background to CENTER rather than STRETCH in GPO and all my problems disappeared.
Very strange. Hope all is well.

Hi Guys,
I got this one fixed, in the end!
It was a bug in Windows 2003 R2's DFS-R service.
If this happens to anyone, you need to apply Microsoft update KB 898900.
However, this fix is included in Windows Server 2003 SP2.
NOTE - You will have to update your XP clients AS WELL as all 2003...
Good Afternoon,
Thanks for the quick reply.
The clients aren't yet pointing to the server as their primary DNS server, however when trying to resolve the issue I did change this so they were pointing at the local server for DNS.
The DC at the site is not currently configured as a global...
Hi Everyone,
This may be an easy one or may not.
I recently added a domain controller to one of our remote offices to facilitate local authentication, DFS for file shares, local DNS etc...
It all works well so far and i'm hoping continues to, AD replicates etc and roaming profiles are...
