Allow AD users to change local DNS

Yeah... I thought about that... but we're talking programmers here!!! ;) They need to change their DNS to be able to use the testing environment, and I don't want to have to give them administrative rights (for obvious reasons). Thanks for the input folks. I'll just make a couple of...

Hey all, I'm having a little trouble with my new laptop. I've exported all of my mail folders from my desktop into a .pst file and burned them to disk to transfer them to my laptop. When I try to import them into Outlook on my laptop it gives the following error: "Properties for this...

    CD drives disappear

I have a problem with my Windows XP box. I have two CD drives, one is a burner and the other is just a reader. When I've left my system running for a while they just dissappear. No idea why. I have to do a cold boot to get them to come back. I unfortunately have no idea how long it takes or...

    2*10mbit = 20mbit?

Hmm.... not sure if this will work, but you can try installing Zebra and using that to route traffic on your box. Only thing I'm not sure of is if it does load balancing (which is what you would want). Take a look at www.zebra.org. Hope it helps

IT Career Over The Long Term

    Sendmail

Ok... I know I have sendmail running. It's version 8.12.2. What I need to know is if it's Sun Sendmail or if the tech before me compiled open source sendmail from sendmail.org. I've tryed various thigs such as telnet to port 25, strings /usr/lib/sendmail |less, sendmail -V, and all I can...

Is A+ and Network+ worth anything besides.......

Well put. Another thing you have to think about is what you like to do. Do you like to work with Microsoft or would you rather be working on UNIX systems? Same goes with the networks (although once you learn the fundamentals of networking you can easily figure out how to use all the different...

    version?

I've posted this in the Solaris forum as well. I need to know if sendmail on a Solaris box is Sun Solaris or if the admin before me installed open source sendmail. Is there any way to determine this??

where to change my $SHELL ?

You can set a users shell in a couple of different ways. The best way to set it is in the passwd file. IE: user:*:*:* User desc:/:/bin/sh You can also set it in a .profile so when they log on it automatically launches their shell.
