The laptop is a late model Compaq Presario I believe and there are no utilities for diagnosing the unit. One morning, I switch the network cable to another port on switch and the problem went away for the day. The problem came back the following day so I am guessing it's an IP or firewall...
We're having an isolated issue using Outlook in our office. We have Mi8 hosting our emails and all 5 employees share the same email. Recently, one laptop continually disconnects and reconnects in Outlook, which makes it difficult to save and send emails. It uses a wired connection when in...
My boss recently replaced his old laptop with a new one and now has issues when using it in and out of the office. His laptop does not renew his IP address and cannot VPN or check Outlook. He now has to release then renew his IP every time he boots up in a different location to communicate...
Thank you cmeagan656 for your recommendations. Unfortunately, neither steps made any changes. I attempted to reset the menu bar a few times with no avail. It seems more like a software issue rather than a user setting issue, but that is only based off my computer understanding.
Are there...
When making a new email using MS Outlook, the "File, Edit, View..." bar that is usually at the top of the page is not placed there. It is actually placed 4 lines down on the email body portion and words are hidden under the bar when typing. Is there a way to move this bar? There is no handle...
The problem does look as if it is the LCD. I made sure I did not exceed the resolution of the monitor and tried reseting the screen using the on-screen display controls. No luck there so I tried another computer and the problem exist but not as bad. The 4 vert lines are there but are less...
I have posted about this problem a few months ago but now I have pictures. My screen developed 4 light lines on the right hand side and causes changes in my display if I enlarge a window or if I move part of a window into that area.
So far, I have tried my VGA connections to make sure they are...
This motherboard does not offer an AGP slot but has an embedded AGP video adapter. There are 3 PCI slots and 1 AMR slot available for expansion. At the moment, I have a Firewire card in the first PCI slot and the video card in the second. I will try switching them to see if there are any changes.
I forgot to add that I did change my bios settings for my video controller to PCI instead of AGP (onboard video). During my first install, I disabled the onboard video in display adapter and did not install it on the clean install.
My PC Chips M841LR has a built in video card and I purchased a Diamond ATI Radeon 9250 PCI 256MB card as an upgrade. My first problem with the installation was the bad CD driver it came along with. I then tried going to the Diamond website, which also had a bad release of the driver. ATI had...
I have yet to swap the soundcard to another computer to see if the card is the issue. Another website recommended wiggling the plugs to see if there was any static, which means it would be the culprit. But I had no luck there.
dglienna, as mentioned in my first post, I was able to use the...
No luck with a different slot and I have not tried on another computer but maybe that is something I can try. This may be the deciding factor on whether to replace it. Thank you for your help.
