I'm running Win98SE and I find this file (bgcshik.exe)in my start-up file listing in system configuration. When I uncheck it and restart it's back. I have deleted the file everywhere I can find it including the registry files. I've done searches on the internet and can't find any record of this...

I have completely uninstalled the usb lines in device manager three times. I have tried to install the drivers three times. When I do it turns the usb lines to yellow asteriks. When I reboot it turns the lines to red. I do have admin rights.

I have done that. I also went to the intel site and got the latest board drivers. I also went to another computer that is identical to mine in the office and got the driver details and matched them to mine. All the drivers are identical and in the same directory. Nothing works. Can you help me?

I just installed a WD 120GB hard drive on my Win 98SE machine. I formatted it as 1 large drive with no partitions using a WD program. It formatted as 120GB. Under my computer it shows only 111GB capacity. But if I right click the drive and go to properties it shows 120GB. Also under explorer it...

How can you add a name to drive extension letters, i.e, c drive or a cdrw? The letters show in explorer but I want to add names to the letters.

I have a Gateway EV700A monitor that the video cable has a broken connection right behind the video plug. The monitor is out of warranty so I'm not getting any help from Gateway. Where can I get a replacement cable for the monitor?

Thanks for the information. When I copy a cd I write the information to the hd then burn it to a cd. Thats when the bottom drops out after the recorder starts to burn the cd. I have a win98SE machine 1.2ghz duron with 192 meg ram. I have a 8x4x32 Phillips CDRW. When I try to copy a cd I keep getting buffer underun errors and screw up another cd. What's up? How can I stop this from happening?

When you upgrade to a new motherboard, do you have to start from scratch with a clean hard drive? I am upgrading to a new motherboard (450mhz to 1.2ghz) and I have a 13 gig hd. Do I have to wipe the hd clean with the motherboard change? Or will the hd with all the info work with the new MB?
