Is there a way to set permissions on a particular file based on its name. Foe example if the files name starts with "Mech-???" then the Mechanical group would have full access and everyone else would just have read only.I have a couple of groups sharing a directory and changing files...
A few updates since the post.
1- I can recreate the problem here by unchecking a box on the mac client program fetch that tells it to use "passive mode".
2- i have set the authenticetion to basic text.

I am having a problem with our FTP site running on W2K IIS 5.0. Windows users can logon no problem but the MAC users cannot. The MAC users can logon to the FTP site but get bumped off very quickly. here is the message.

I would like to hide only certain stations from the hood. I have not instituted any policy's yet as i am not very familiar with them. Are the policy's global or user/group specific?

Is there a way to hide computers from the browse list.We are running a 2k network with nt4,w2k, and xp pro boxes. I have tried putting a hidden=1 in the registry under LanManserver _> parameters section but to no avail. Any help would be much appreciated.
