Disable simple file sharing for all users
In control panel, tools, folder options, click the view tab. at the bottom, uncheck 'use simple file sharing'.- dybb

Skipped files not appearing in Job Log
I am having this problem as well and am needing a complete list of the skipped files. The log contains some info on files skipped but the summary indicates a much higher number of skipped files. using arcserve 2000 sp4 backing up nt4 sp6 machines with nt client agent.- dybb
