    Thanks so much for this thread and the ntbkup link. I thought I was sunk, but downloaded the program, and with a VERY limited knowledge of using the Windows Console, was able to extract virtually ALL of my 40 GB backup that NTBackup couldn't even read!!!!! Thanks again. Vee
