    VPN Failover

It took me a while, but I actually got mine to fail back automatically. I have two connections at each site, but at the main site I'm using both connections, one for internet and the other for vpn's. The vpn's can fail back to the internet connection if needed. At the remote sites I setup the...

    VPN Failover

I have an ASA 5510 at our main office. At our branch offices we have asa 5505's. Currently we have DSL connections at each branch, but we are adding T-1's to each office. I would like to setup the T-1's as the primary vpn connections and the DSL as a secondary vpn connection. Is there a way...

    Cat5e, Cat6, Cat7 installation costs

We had a fire marshall come through a few years back that made us fire stop everything or face over $100k in fines. So we seal everything. I've been looking into the self sealing cable transits for future installs.

    Cat5e, Cat6, Cat7 installation costs

Oldtimerbob, Thanks for your input. We are a hospital, so we have phones everywhere. Hallways, patient rooms, dicatation lines, and fax machines make up almost half of them.

    Cat5e, Cat6, Cat7 installation costs

Buitenhek, Thanks for your detailed analysis. Our architect said it would cost less than $50k, I knew he was way off base. I think I'll budget about $125k to be safe.

    Cat5e, Cat6, Cat7 installation costs

Yes, we are required to run all plenum. We typically run the same cable everywhere because offices move so often. That way we can repurpose them for the needs at the time. Plus I think we're going to go all voip anyways. Thanks,

    Cat5e, Cat6, Cat7 installation costs

We are presently in the process of planing a complete tearout and remodel of our building. The architect wants to completely relocate our datacenter and phone system to another area of the building. During the process, we will have to completely rewire the building. Currently the existing...

    Fibre Optic Cabling

50 mm fibre is certified for 10G ethernet up to 550 meters depending on the quality. Unless you have a distance problem, IE your links are more than 1/3 a mile a way, single mode would probably be a waste of money. The optics are 5 to 10 times more expensive and will have to be replaced more...

4690 ip conference phone power supply

I called polycom and found out the power adapter is the same as the dcp power supply for the premiers. Is there a part number on the adapter that goes in between?

4690 ip conference phone power supply

Does anyone know what I need to power the 4690 conference phone? I purchased one without a power supply figuring it would work poe and it doesn't. I looked at the product description and it says it has multiple power options. However I can't find anywhere where it tells what those options...

stuck in loop cannot remove station

Well that didn't fix it, but it did get me pointed in the right direction. I had to plug a phone into the port and turn off the night service button. Then it let me remove both the station and trunk. Thanks, Dustin

stuck in loop cannot remove station

I have cm 2.0 on a g3si. We got rid of one of our offices a while back and I'm trying to get rid of the extensions and trunk group however if I try to delete the main phone it gives an object in use error because there is a trunk-ns button on the phone. It shows object in use everytime I try to...

    Block range of DID's

Phoneguy, do I just tell it to del all digits? If so what does that do to the call, just drop it or send it to the operator? Thanks for your help.

    Block range of DID's

We are running CM 2.0 on a g3si. We have pri circuits with did's on them. We have run out of extensions so I had to open another block which was previously reserved for FAC's. I segmented the block with 700-719 being fac's and 720-799 are extensions. I just bought the range of did's for the...
