According to Nortel- All APs connected to an edge switch or whatever must have spanning-tree disabled or else the AP will not boot and will cause instablity within the AP etc.
the RSA key or fingerprint which is 32 characters can be entered after the AP has booted successfully. its easy to...
yeah, we had the exact same issue- only on a 2380.
if you don't have your own custom splash screen, then Nortel defaults to their own. Create a user name/pass and you are good to go.
the fix was adding a static route in IP services field pointing the destination to the gateway of the DMZ...
Hello,
We also have a nortel wireless shop- 3 2380's in a mobility domain, doing everything from voice with QoS( spectra-link phones ) and webAAA, 802.1x with TKIP and WPA etc.
We had our bumps in the past due to flaky versions of code ( 4.1.11 ) Currently, running 4.1.14 and the only area...
I am also running 3.0.0.0 code on OSM.
plug in info in tftp server area
in the action box click on "dnldFw" this is for your diag or bin image. then where it says Image filename browse for the bossxxx.bin and voila! schdule or download on the spot.
you don't need 450image mix stack unless...
i have come across the same issues with vlans and tagging on a BPS. I find that JDM doesn't give you all the detail as the web gui would ie: QoS etc.
1)create the vlan and the ports associated to it.
"submit" auto pvid.
2) create 2nd vlan and port and "submit" auto pvid and so on.
the check...
actually neither. bps's are in a pure stack of three with 1 gig sx link down to the core 8600.
nothing special on the bps's.
default vlan, auto on, stp off.
just random reboots??
i thought of someone doing a network scan and causing the bps buffer to be overwhelmed, thus causing it to...
hi norteldude78,
Thanks for the insight. I have checked the IGMP configurations and they are both set ( snooping & proxy ) to disable.
Also, the sys errors on the switch don't show much of anything except 'link up & down' and the code upgrade that was performed earlier.
I have seen other...
We have been seeing some wacky problems on the LAN here and at remote sites.
2 issues at hand:
1)Stacks of three or more (pure) Business Policy Switched stacks are randomly rebooting. Some on the LAN with gig uplinks to 8600's and some with copper uplinks at smaller T1 sites.
2)Stack of...
Yup,
web to the IP address.
Username - RW (case sensitive)
password - whatever you set the web/telnet/console password to be in the configuration. The passwords can be different.
Hope this helps!
Thanks for the quick response. I assumed that AOL was the issue but did not think of the Parental settings. GOOD ONE!
Also, the support.microsoft links were very helpful.
THanks and I'll let you know how I make out.
Best,
Stef
Hi,
I have a AOL 9.0 that appears to be the default internet browser. I want to make IE 6.0 the primary browser.
I have checked all the settings in IE, restored default settings, but it still won't resolve any webpages. I get the "The page cannot be displayed" error.
Anythoughts would be...
Unfortunately, the BPS class and the 470's can only do 1 to 1 mirroring.
If you get into the layer 3 products such as the Passport 8600 series, then you can do many to one only. (not one to many)
(I think the 1648's can too)

Fyi- any nortel gear that you purchase new does NOT come with a console cable. Unfortunately, you need to build them.
The pinouts that I gave you work for most pieces of gear excluding the 8600 layer 3 series switches and some of their more expensive routers- BLN, BCN etc.

Hey there,
Hyperterminal to the box, powercycle the box and press cntrl-c during the diags. follow the cmd line and type "i" for initaliaze and then "a" run agent code.
the switch will reboot to factory defaults and voila! No password needed.
regards
dualie
