It's just a file and print server but students and teachers are running applications on it and when you say "Break Things" what type of things should I be looking at if I apply sp6.
I have disabled the backup program which is Veritas and only have Netware items enabled but it very well could be a Java issue. I can post whatever information would be helpful if you would like. Here are some links for screen shots and I am particularly worried about the swap file, it seems...
Ok, definitely have a nlm difference but one other thing I noticed is that after a couple of days the utilization goes to 51% and server pretty much slows down on all operations. When I look at the virtual memory config and settings in remote manager it shows me that 99% is swapped and physical...
I have a weird problem. I have 21 servers that were all setup at the same time and have had the same version of netware after each update. I have one site which I have been away from for some time and have started having utilizations of 51 to 100%. When I look at the monitor screen the...
Marvin, nice post! Exactly what I needed to hear. Since we are a school system our needs are pretty basic and you are exactly right when pointing out our service needs and netware fills them perfectly. Being a Linux fan I was actually excited but got scared when my Boss came to me asking what...
Sorry, disregard. Went back and reran RBS configuration and chose reinstall the second time and it seemed to work. Sorry for the useless post... Got scared!
Just upgraded from Imanager 2.0.2 to 2.6 and the first thing I noticed was that the Iprint options were not available. Is there anything special that has to be done to enable Iprint with 2.6? Ran the RBS configuration with no luck but I also made sure that Iprint was a checked item during the...
OK, Just a question to those of you in the know. I have been using netware at my current orginization for 8 years and have been extremely pleased with the performance, stability, and overall platform reliability. My dilemma is this; My current vendor who performed the initial install of our...
Think I found it:

This was the exact problem I had so if anyone needs it give it a try!
Currently using Netware 6.5 sp 5 and have had trouble in the past adding printer drivers to Iprint through broker. When I open the page to add drivers in Imanager under manage broker and click add from file I get the message "Uploading resources to the broker using 'add from file' is not...
Got a silly question on this one but....
What is the best practice, or is it possible to setup a intranet web server on one of my Netware servers to host student pages???? Also, can I put the pages on a volume that is not used much and have the pages published internally??? I have some...
OK, we went ahead and updated to sp5 last night and all the servers are under 5% utilization now during slow times so it looks promising. After the update I downed and then during bootup 3 out of nine froze and I had to hard boot and after a couple of nervous minutes all nine were back online...
Thanks I will check that out and yes we are at SP3. I downloaded 5 & 6 but a little scared of going to sp6 at the moment, would 5 be sufficient? Also, I will set the hard limits before I do anything and let it settle down before adding service pack.
Sorry for the delay, had other fires to put out. I appreciate the info and I am currently checking it out. The other thing I noticed was that DS was at 400+ Mb utilization. Checking service pack version and reading tids, thanks, will update when I find out.
Using Veritas Backup and getting the following message
"Short term memory allocator is out of memory
XX attempts to get more memory failed.
Request size in bytes 524288 from module nwpa.nlm"
Just popped up on servers that have been stable for a while, not sure what this means but has...
