On *both* ends the wires inside go (from left to right) - Solid Green - > Striped Green -> Solid Orange -> Striped Orange -> Solid Brown -> Striped Brown -> Solid Blue -> Striped Blue. I can also see all the wires are all the way up if I look at it from the front. When I stick the end in the...
It was tested by the guys at the computer shop I bought it from... I put the ends on myself because they wanted $30[!] to do it... I don't know their exact methods of testing, but they said it was fine...
Hey, I've got a Netopia 3546 DSL router hooked up to a computer over 150ft of Cat-5. I had the cable tested before I ran it across the ceiling at it was fine, but I can't get link lights from it now that it's up so no connection to the web/network... Any ideas?
My local LTP printer won't show up when I use remote desktop connection over our VPN. I've tried making another shared printer, my port is set to ECP, I've tried the net use command and it still won't show up. This happens on both the local XP Pro box that has the printer hooked up to it and...
When I enable routing and remote access on my 2k server, it takes the whole network offline. Local clients are no longer able to connect and the server can't see them either. The second I disable it, everything is fine. Am I missing something simple?
That didn't work either...
This is what it looks like currently:
remote ipfilter flush input internet
remote ipfilter flush output internet
remote ipfilter flush transmit internet
remote ipfilter flush receive internet
eth ip filter flush input 0
eth ip filter flush output 0
eth ip filter...
I'll bump this up one more time and then let it die...
Has anyone ever setup a Efficient 5861 ADSL router with a firewall and allowed VPN connections to get though it? How?
Not as I would like to. I think I will end up getting a normal PCI video card and modding it to fit (there should be just enough room). Now I would like it to be the PCI Radeon 9000, but I never buying anything like that without reading at least one review, and I can't find one, I guess that's...
I think killowhat gave me one for pointing out the PCI Radeon 9000.

"hey drfish, this might be what i have been looking for."
cdogg, I totally agree with you, I only said that because if you have a slow CPU and you want to play DX8 games with it you should have a DX8 video card to offload as much as possible from the CPU. If the CPU doesn't have to emulate pixel shaders because your video card can do it then it will...
I believe the CPU is what emulates pixel shaders (which would be a good reason to put a DX8 card in even a low end system, save as many CPU cycles as you can for other things). Vertex shaders on the other hand can't be emulated (or at least aren't) and require the GPU to have the ability to do...
The Geforce4 MX anything does NOT support vertex and pixel shaders.
It would be easy to take the faceplate off the card and yes, the PCI slots are in the same arrangment. The only problem is finding a card that isn't too wide and would prevent the case from closing. Also, without a proper...
Sorry cdogg, I've heard the term "low profile" before and didn't think to explain it, thanks for trying to help in spite of my negligence.
paparazi, yeah, that's what I'm thinking I'll have to end up doing, I'll have to do some measuring to made sure that will work.
Is the fastest...
