True, but You can bet 99% of the people who have this problem dont have machines that were built within the last couple of years, otherwise they would be able to use the Dell Service contract that came with their machines... Mines a Laté! LOL Dash

COSMOS? *G* Isn't that what I suggested on 4th Sept? LOL The CMOS battery is considered User servicable, Its probably under one of the flaps on the underside of the unit. Try looking under the Memory upgrade flap, they are not going to make something as volotile as the CMOS battery...

Dells use their own Bios's so you can ignore most of the above. I used to work with Dell laptops, and this works with some but not all... Remove the battery, then remove the CMOS battery, leave for 5 minutes, replace both batteries restart. Hope it helps, let us know. Dash -- " Computer...

This stinks of either Overheating CPU or memory problems... Even though you have got matched Memory, try borrowing a friends memory that definately works. If you still have problems, then you have at least eliminated that possibility. Also, Try One stick at a time, and try it in each slot in...
