Need Startup Password??
The username and password bit works, it is after that that another box comes up asking for just a password. It happnes when I start the database.- dracpet

Need Startup Password??
The box that pops up only asks for a password. If I run oracle or sqlplus through a dos window it asks for username and password, and internal/oracle works there, but then another box pops up and asks for just a password, and nothing I type in the box works.- dracpet

I have just installed Oracle 8i Prsonal Edition on my Windows 98 machine, but when i try to start the database it asks for a password and nothing I try works. If I connect to Sqlplus first it asks for username and password which works, but then the startup password box comes up again. If any...- dracpet
