In my case, after checking my UPS, I found that the battery indicator is now red, indicating the battery needs replacing.
I really didn't notice it until I took a closer look.
I am hoping that this is what triggered the server to shut down.
This is also happening to me.
I am running 2000 Server SP4 on a generic box server and in the last two days I too have had my server shut down without warning with the same error message.
Each time it occured between 6 and 6:30 AM EST.
I spoke with another tech and he indicated that it could...

Chris,
I think you hit the ball out of the park on this one!
It is indeed an R2 server and I will definately do as you have suggested.

Hello All,
We are attempting to add a 2003 DC into an existing native 2000 AD environment that consists of three (3) 2000 Server DC's all running under 2000 Server native mode. One of the DC's is also a 2000 Exchange server.
To begin with we ran both /forestprep and /adprep without any issues...
I performed a manual update of the RUS.
Hopefully, this will help resolve the issue.
I have also set up Exchange to forward a copy of all NDR's generated by Exchange to my own inbox. This way I can more effectively monitor the situation.
Thanks for your helpful advice! Star well deserved!
Yes "confirmed on user account profile?"
Yes "correct smtp?"
RUS? Pardon my ignorance, what is RUS and how do I do this?
As for GFI, I have it checking the AD directly and am not using ldap.
Lately I have received reports from various users that emails sent from outside our organization to some of our users are being bounced back with the following error message:
"The e-mail account does not exist at the organization

We use Exchange 2000 running on Server 2000 as our exchange box at work.
Everything was working fine until this weekend when my users could connect to OWA fine, but then their inbox would not completely load within their browsers or they will get a blank screen within their browser (nothing...
Thanks All,
We too have the auto-disclaimer activated with GFI and we are using version 11 of their software.
I half suspected this to be the cause.
I will de-activate it and see if this helps solve the problem.
I have also posted on the GFI boards.
Hello All,

Problem: Files sent to mulitple recipients are showing up corrupted. I have re-installed the latest service pack for Exchange...
When trying to open an email message within Outlook Express, a user keeps receiving the following error message:
"Message was cached but not flagged. Repairing"
Any clue as to the cause of this? Is this the fault of my ISP? Or is this an email client issue?
Outlook Express has an Export/Import feature, under the "File" menu. Simply export the address book to a *.csv file format (choose the fields you need to transfer over, eg. Name, Address, email, etc) and either burn this to a cdrom or (if it is small enough, a 3.5 floppy).
On your...
