I got it to work w/o the invalid coordinates problem using the SET alternate commands and ???. The only minor issue now is it sometimes ejects a 2nd set of blank labels between jobs. But compared to having a limit to the number of labels and the legibility issue, this is nothing. Thanks...

Okay, i stopped the blank pages from printing, and added NAME to SET PRINTER TO. It looks like this made a big difference. now the only issue i seem to have is being able to print more than 500 labels at a time (125 sets of 4 labels across). I get the error "invalid coordinates".

actually i just noticed I used Set printer to \\fserver\t6215-new (didn't put "name" in the command). does that matter?

I tried installing a generic/text driver and it didn't like that. then tried just typing in the command window SET PRINTER TO NAME \\fserver\t6215-new ??? FILETOSTR("U:\labelvfp\test.txt") nothing happened until I issued another "set printer to" command. then it printed as requested. so I...

the other workstations have been printing to these printers for a couple of years, so I would think they already have the necessary sharing permissions. What else am i missing?

yes, \\fserver\t6215-new is the name of the printer. Sorry i wasn't more clear on this command, and thanks for clarifying.

thanks, Dave. I will try your ideas. I'm just curious if you would know why it would work on my laptop but not on the workstations of my users? Everything is set up the same as far as the printers go. The only difference I know of is the users don't have vfp installed on their workstations...

okay, just discovered I need to change the font line by line, not just change the default font in Report/Properties. I think I am good for now. thanks for your input.
