Thanks for the options you linked, there's always a chance someone runs across...

I've been unable to find a system that we can enable and track remotely.

After I read my inital reply I noticed it sounds a bit hostile, it wasn't meant to be. In the past I could have sworn I had a problem that was virus related and ended up having a hung service I hadn't noticed and found an error in the Event log that resolved the issue.
Just wanted to clear...
Here are a few ones to try.
First, what makes you think it is a virus? Other than the services using more memory than expected? Have you checked out the Event logs to resolve any warnings/errors being reported? You could be chasing a ghost.

I'm looking for a URL for direct downloads from the Microsoft site for Windows 2000 professional and server. My current contract places me on a 128k dsl connection and patching desktops through windows update just doesn't cut it when you have 2 servers and 20 workstations to patch. I have a...

Are you finding System or System Idle process using 99%.
If its System Idle then that is normal. It means the CPU isn't doing anything. When System Idle drops to around 20% your looking at crash time because your resources are being used up.
If System Idle is the one sitting at 99% then...
