    They need to check at the demarc. If they can use a telephone or butt set and pull dial tone the line is loop start. It should be ground start.

    That is exactly what I told the csr. His fax vendor assured him that we were wrong and that a pots line would serve this need. I told him that we could either give him a DID or a Tie line interface to provide the digits. Thanks for the Help. I just wanted to ask more techs if they had ever heard...

    The customer wants the initiator to only dial the 10 digit telephone number. I believe you are talking about dialing the 10 digit number then pause and continue dialing another 3 or 4 digits in the dialing string programmed in the fax. No, I ask that question.

    I am not familiar with that service. How could you make that happen? After the POTS lines is answered the call would be complete? No more digits.
