    Use p9 or wp9?

I'm trying to figure out how to accomplish a task that may invove Paradox, Word Perfect, or a combination of both. I need to create a document that will ultimately be produced in Word Perfect, complete with the appropriate fonts and completed tables. I need to set it up so that I can do...

Copy last record data to next record for edit

Super! I think the default values thing will save us a lot of work. Only question I have that remains, is...each time we open the record...will the data we've already entered be changed back to the default vaules when we edit the record? I assume not. Thanks, Dan

Copy last record data to next record for edit

Actually...I'm not a programmer...so is there a way to do it interactively? I have been doing it via a keyboard macro program..but about once a month..that program quits working..and I have to reinstall...then re-build the macro.

Copy last record data to next record for edit

Somewhere I recall reading a tip about a command you can issue in p9 that essentially puts all the data from your last record into your next record..or the one you're now editing...so you don't have to re-type redundant info. Can anyone tell me what that command or key combination is? Thanks! Dan

Adding case numbers after the fact (Lance, help!)

Thanks so much, guys, for your instructions. I'm not a programmer, tho. I use P9 interactively. If you can tell me where to cut and paste the code to, I can do that. I have so much respect for you code guys. All that seems so complex to me. I can usually figure out how to get a program to...

Adding case numbers after the fact (Lance, help!)

I have a client database with several thousand records in it now. Should have done this at the outset, but didn't think of it. Among the fields I have in the database...are DOB (date of birth) and Date_Seen. I was thinking of making a case number for each record by combining the digits from...

    Where's Lance?

Lance... So glad you're back! Got some help that got me through, tho, in your absence. I'm way ahead of where I would have EVER been w/o the help I've gotten on this forum. i can figure stuff out by tinkering..but it's gotten to where I don't have the hours to put into it. I know there is...

    Where's Lance?

Yo...NotAllThere...home run! Thanks! The formula worked perfectly first time! After clicking through a bunch of records...I found that way over 99% of the date+15 and date+10 business days....yeilded exactly the same date! Is there a way to get the due dates into a report? Is there a way to...

    Where's Lance?

Thanks for the reply with the code. I'll give that a try shortly and see what happens. What ever became of Lance? I tried Lance's formula, but just got error messages.

    Where's Lance?

Thanks for the reply. I'm not as knowledgeable as you on p9, so some of the terms are not understood. Here goes anyway (your text as copied...mine in ALL CAPS): The code I gave in the related post in this forum is ObjectPAL which needs to be inserted into a method. I'M NOT SURE WHAT A...

    Where's Lance?

Lance... I left you a message at WP-U last week. Did you get it? I'm still trying to get the 10 business days thing to work. Thanks to your advice, I got the 15 working days to work. The name of the fields, etc. were put in the long WP-U post. Got time to help me on that? Thanks, Dan

How to project "due date" from date field

Ogriofa... I tried as best I could to understand what you were telling me to do, but got an error message...something like "identifier expected" or some such. Here's what I did: 1. I went into the form..copied a field that had a date in it. Then...renamed the field label to...

Table lost its link to corresponding form

Thanks, Lance. I'll check out the stuff you mentioned in your reply. I'm going to take a few days off this week...and plan on taking my old laptop clunker with me so I can get that date+15 thing to work. Will let you know if I'm successful. I sure hope you never decide to quit monitoring...

Table lost its link to corresponding form

Last week.. p9 stopped running. On start up, it would report a missing DLL. So I reinstalled it. It works fine now, except that the table I use most frequently will not interact with the form I had designed for data input. The form loads ok...but there are no records in it...and I can't get...
