Update. We have found that the replica becomes stand-alone after being repaired. The corruption seems to occur when the database is being accessed by several users simultaneously.
I have 8 remote sites that each input into a replica of an access 2000 database. The replica is posted to an email account we can all access and each office downloads the latest version, makes their updates and, once a week reposts it so I can sync them all and post up the latest version, etc...

One of our staff has a dial-up connection and uses outlook 2000. When he sends attachments some recipients receive the attachments and others don't.

Yes it can. You need to create a custom recipient then go into each recipients mailbox properties.
Under the tab "delivery options" you can select the relevant alternate recipient from the address list. Make sure you also have the "deliver to both" box...

Go into the Recipients container in Exchange Administrator and from the Toolbar at the top select "View" and then "Columns". You'll then have a screen that enables you to add and delete columns for the default view.
We've found it really useful having the alias...
Assuming you're using Exchange, you can also add the "Alias" column to the view in the Recipients container. (View, columns, etc..)
We've set ours up this way to make is easier to troubleshoot email logon problems at remote sites.
This problem has been around a while. An easy solution is to start the PC in safe mode (press F8 when booting)then run the defrag.
It's worked on all the PC's I've tried it on.

Default email limits are set in the properties of the public and private information stores. Just highlight the relevant information store and click on the properties icon.
Limits can also be set in the properties of each user's mailbox so if the default limits are empty you may need to check...
