I have a sudden episode of memory loss. Can someone please tell me or direct me for instructions on how to take a diskless pc and run Win2K prof on it from over a network. How exactly do you setup the server for this type of terminal service??
Thanks,,

Is this device SCSI?
In any event, you need to download firmware updates and any OS updates (that pertain to CDRW's). My old Yahmaha SCSI burner did the same thing until I did the above.

We have the following network in our K-12 organization:
1)12 seperate Win2K domains.
2)All domains connected via Aironet wireless with Cisco router and switches.
3)At the top we have a root server
How do we:
1)Move to a single domain, multiple O.U.s (instead of the multiple domain model which...
Yes Art is correct,
DNS plays a large part when it comes to the computer logging into the domain. If something is screwy it could take a few hours just to login. Network communication could have a problem

The server has 2 Nics on it, I disabled one, tried the other, vice versa. We have something like 12 separate domains, including the root. We cannot log onto eddy.dom, which is the local school domain, but can logon to the root from the school server.
1.PDC can't log onto it's local school domain, only the Win2K Root Domain. It gives me can't log on check your password blah, blah, blah, for any account.
2.I have changed accounts, added new accounts from the root to the local school domain user database, but i am still "locked out"...
That reminds me you Term Service Freaks, we got these free Cyrix based Oracle Terminals. Dumb ?, but nothing says I can't just run Win2K via Terminal Services right? Love that service!!

All you have to do to change the SID for your mass deployments is to set it in the task. Or you can manually do it for each clone with ghostwalker. Be careful when you are rolling out images over your network. If you have a lot a traffic on your network it will lock!! I only deploy with...
create a batch file that has this line:
net time \\servername.
make sure your server has the right time.
input the path to that batch file (on the server) in each user's account to run that batch on startup.
We have a large multi domain network (Win2K). We are have replication problems since all the DC's are shooting back to the root for directory information (communication problems). We all know that a single domain with multiple OU's is the way to go. How hard is it going to be to re-do our...
In my opinion Win diagnostics are bad for the most part especially when checking for HD errors. The DOS utilities are far better because no apps are running in the back ground, they are far more accurate. Your opinions??

XE AND Insight LC. I know XE and far more in depth and returns more info and managability, but I don't have the time to learn SQL. Would mass installing LC (client and server side) be a viable alternative??
