Visio works fine with GIF images. I import GIF that I create in Corel PHOTO-PAINT 11 and all works fine, without any white background. I use Microsoft Visio 2000 SR1 (6.1.4530) and Corel PHOTO-PAINT 11 (11.633) Maybe you use Visio 2000 (6.0.0.1159) or (6.0.0.1245)?

You right. It's Visio 2000 default path. By default, visio 2003 created "My Shapes" folder in My Documents. You may open it, create new folder, "Cisco", for example, and copy all vss cisco files there. When you open Visio next time, you can see them in "File>Shapes>My Shapes>Cisco"
