Hello all,
We used to be able in Exchange 5.5 to have distribution list without SMTP email addresses (to avoid external parties to send email to these groups, especially the "All Company" list) Is there a way to do this in EX2K? Every time we add a list it automatically adds the SMTP...
Hello all,
Is it possible to allow all users folder view without giving them advance author rights? We can only do this if we give advance autor rights to the user but we do not want to give them that level of permission. Additionally, once per week the Folder view stops working all together...
How can someone send email and make it look like it came from my email address? Better yet, how do I prevent this? (We are behind a firewall, relaying is not allowed, OS is NT4&2000) A person in my company received an email where my email address was the From address. The email was not even...
Upon further testing, the above statement is not always true. But we do see this error message in the event log when a user loses connectivity to network resources.
"No suitable Domain Controller is available for domain xyz. An NT4 or older domain controller is available but it can not be...
Setup: NT and 2000 server environment and 98 and XP clients. Some XP clients have network connection problems at different times. Reboot the client and problem is gone for a while. Only thinh we've noticed is that the user name displayed in the Start menu window changes when the connectivity...
Would it be true that when you forward a message you lose the header info? (at least the parts from the original/previous message) The message(s) in question did pass thru our SMTP server for sure based on our employee responding to the inbound email asking him why he sent the email.
An individual outside of our company claims they
received an email from one of our employees. The
employee did not send the message. No message in his
Sent folder, nor was he even logged in the system when
these messages were delivered. The employee is a trusted
person. This has...
Yes, it can use PPTP but IPSEC is the newer, more secure and effiecent protocol. I use both via cable, but lately IPSEC has been dropping frequently so I use PPTP and it is stable. But that is only true for me using cable. I have 100+ users that have great dialup connections with IPSEC. When...
I agree with the above info about the Domain name and other network properties. But, I am curious which protocol you are using in the Nortel VPN. I have a user, using Colorado Qwest DSL/ISP with a cisco router/modem. He can not stay connected for any lenght of time wothout getting dropped but...
Hi all! I am trying to find an accurate method to test/varify Internet connection speeds. Background: Recently my cable connection got very slow but the AT&T Tech said that the PING showed very good latency, <50ms and said that my connection was up to their specifications. I say latency is...
Thanks - I will shut down the old server after everything is moved. But the one thing that still bothers me is why the online defrag stop working. I couldn't to it manually either. But not worth wasting anymore of your time.
Thanks again All!
Thanks for all the feedback.
Only one mailbox remains on the old server yet the file and size of the priv.edb are still 8.2GB - as before we started moving mailboxes. 8.2GB was the original size. The new server shows a priv.edb of 7.7GB.
I thought that the offline defrag (eseutil /d /ispriv)...
