Ok, but the main question is, can i delete the update filesets (i.e. bos.rte.xxx.4.3.3.25.U, ...4.3.3.50.U) between the basefileset (i.e. bos.rte.xxx.4.3.3.0.I) and the newest fileset (i.e. bos.rte.xxx.4.3.3.75.U) in the lppsource directory? Or do I need them for further Installations?
Hi,
i like to know, is it necessary to have all update files of a fileset in the lppsource of a CWS or do i need only the base fileset + the newest fileset? I ask this because the filesystem is quite full.
Thanks for any help...
Hi all,
i wonder if there is a way to know what files i do not need anymore after a ML update? Or do i need them all further on? I thought i heared somewhere that i need only the base filesets + the newest update. Is that correct?
Greets,
Diamon
No, you have to update your CWS to 5.1 first to install it on a Node, afaik... The Kernel Version (32 or 64 bit) depends on the Hardware of each Box. You can use the 64 bit Kernel only if you have 64 bit Hardware...
Hope this helps...
Hi,
this is a Bug described in the AIX 4.x to AIX 5L Migration Whitepaper. All you have to do is to install the X11.loc.de_DE Fileset and relog to make it work.

Hi all,
have anyone any experiences with migrating a SP Node from 4.3.3 to 5.1? If so, please tell me ;) Are there any fixes i have to install on CWS before Migration to make it work?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi all,
we have a large SP Environment with several SP's. Now we want to create a Stand alone NIM Server who holds the CWS' of all SP's as Clients, so we can Install/Maintain the CWS' over NIM.
The Main Question is now, is it possible to do so? If I understand the NIM System right, the CWS'...
Yes, just what i wanted. Root is the only user who can login at that time, so there's no risk to lock myself out. I want it to prevent user login while i update a node to a new ML etc.

Hi all,
i've heard of a file that, as long as it's exists, prevents new user to login. Is that correct and if yes, how it's name?
Thx in advance...

Yes, but the main question is: is there a logfile written during SP node (NIM) installation where i can see why the firstboot.cust file won't be executed (i.e. cause of network trouble or anything like that) ?
Diamon
Hi all,
during Installation of a SP node, firstboot.cust should be run automaticaly. Unfortunately won't it run on some Installation. Does anyone know why? Is there any Logfile written during Installation, where to read why it don't run? Starting manualy after Installation works fine...
Thanks...
After deleting and rebuilding the ha daemons on the nodes and refreshing them on the CWS all is running fine now. So refresh only didn't work... Thank you all guys...
