No user access to IE's "Downloaded Program Files" for ActiveX

Thanks for the ideas. Problem fixed. Found out that my predecessor used a 3rd party security tool to lock-down the Terminal Servers. Interesting that I can modify security on this folder using a 3rd party app but not via NT or somehow via I.E. itself as it handles its own security. Anyway...

No user access to IE's "Downloaded Program Files" for ActiveX

HELP!!! Basic users do not have access to the Terminal Servers "Downloaded Program Files" folder; cache for activeX controls. Users are unable to run plug-ins in IE as it tries to write to this folder. Upon investigation it appears that only Local Administrator group has access here...

Corrupted directories in NT 4 Server crash server

Any scan will crash the server. The data is corrupt. There is nothing in the system logs of any value. I can move the folders within the same drive which never really touches the data. All I want is to waste/trash these corrupt folders. I am not concerned about recovering the data. Again...

Corrupted directories in NT 4 Server crash server

Ladies and Gentlemen! I have several directories on my NT 4 server that cause it to crash when they are scanned or accessed. Attempting to delete via windows causes a crash. Trying remove dir via DOS simply causes an error. Any ideas? Any utilities? Thanks for any assist. -- Devil Dog --

    Citrix client not connecting

More questions... Is the user connecting to a Published Application/Desktop? or trying to connect via Custom ICA Connection? You may have a name resolution problem if trying to connect to a server using server name. Try IP address. Can the user ping the server by name? by IP? -- Devil Dog --

    Published Apps

Just a note... If the solution realy is to isolate the master browser than this must be a new problem with W2K and/or XPe as I am running 500+ on a farm of 13 servers running NT4TS+MF1.8 without a dedicated master browser. I often run 40-50 users per box when removing 1-2 servers for...

to mirror or not to mirror... that's my question

OK... looks like I need to put in my $.02 into the pot. In my environments I have used two types of configurations; #1..All on RAID-5 with HOT spare at the hardware level. #2..The OS mirrored and the application/data on RAID-5 (always hardware RAID). Whether you go with #1 or #2 would depend...

MS Word 2000 Resume Wizard in Citrix

Can you give us more input? Does this happen at the 1st instance of execution? Is anybody able to execute this? What OS are you running? W2K + XPe, NT4 TSE + WF1.8, etc... -- Devil Dog --

    Session Connection Error

Can you ping the Citrix server BY NAME from the client? If not, you may want to check your DNS settings and/or the LMHOSTS file. -- Devil Dog --

Only a member of the Admin group can start applications

I would agree that you should 1st check the rights/permissions of your user accounts against those of the application folders and any other forlder that your application may need to write to. For starters, can you be more specific about what happens when a basic user executes the app? Do you...

    new users can't login

Without any real testing (quick & dirty) I would say that you have locked down permissions on the Profiles and/or Temp directory or on the "Allusers" / "Default User" profile folders. Need to open those up. -- Devil Dog --

    Server rebooting every day un-intentionally

I'll ask some basic questions... odds are that you already checked these out but I'll ask anyway. Can you identify the starting point of your problem? Were any changes made at that time (24-48 hr period)? Since it does not seem to crash during the day than does any one of your users initiate...
