Hi,
On a 2008 R2 Standard server I created a folder d:\data\userhome. Domain users have no NTFS access to this folder. I share the folder as \servername\userhome, everyone has Full Control on the share.
Within this folder I created all the users home directories ( eg. d:\data\userhome\firstlast...

Can this user launch applications from another PC ? probably yes.
Is it possible that this PC has a DNS-problem , or that for one reason or another the switch on which the PC is connected blocks port 443 ( https ) ?

Linney,
So far we have always just copied the fonts in the %windir%\fonts folder.
Did that on W2K as well as on Win XP machines, never had this problem.

Hi,
I created a corporate image PC ( Win XP , SP2 ).
On that PC I copied some 'old' WP-fonts in the \windows\fonts folder ( as an administrator ).
When the system was ready, I sysprepped it to roll it out.
After rollout, a normal user ( no admin-rights ) does not see the fonts when opening the...

Thanks for the quick answer.

At work we use Dameware NT Utilities to manage a network of 500 PC's and 50 servers.
PC's are Windows 2000, XP and 1 or 2 Windows NT4.
Servers are Windows 2000 and Windows 2003.
Very easy to use.
If you download it, you have a 30 days trial version.

Hi,
I'm looking for a tool or way to determine (list) which user has access to which folders on a file system.
Server = W2K SP4.
Same question if server = W2K3.
Eg. : To which (sub)folders does John Doe have access on drive map X ?
Thanks.

Hi,
I'm looking for a way to format a system-disk ( c: ) from that disk itself, ie. without using a CD or floppy.
If I have to use/install a simple share- or freeware software for that, no problem.
OS = W2K pro + SP4
Any suggestions ?
Thx.

David, Neil,
As I had no other system at hand, I uninstalled and installed Arcserve on the existing system.
As soon as Arcserve was 'up and running', I made a copy of the 'database' folder to avoid similar problems in the future.
Everything is OK now.
Bottom line is, unfortunately, that the...
