Someone had suggested this to me and it worked so here is the solution if anyone else has this problem.
Try generating a EPS from the Quark File menu and then take that EPS and apply it to Acrobat Distiller directly. Use Acrobat Reader (not full Acrobat) to print the PDF you create.

hello again. I just saved my quark file as an eps and opened it in illustrator. Everything looks fine. So I am assuming it was just the low res preview that quark has. When I hand this file over to the company to be get printed, which format do I give? the eps or the qxd?
I have the same problem.
My image looks awful once it is in quarkxpress but fine when in illustrator. Also, it is really large and I would like to resize it.

ok, so zip the file, send it, then after i have finished working on the file on my pc, zip it again, then unzip on the mac?
