Bad echo on outside calls with IP500 connected to Mediatrix C711 VoIP Analog Adapter

An old topic oft discussed. But in my case if I plug a normal analogue phone into the line - no echo. It is def coming from the AVAYA IP500 setup. Our local Telecom supplier uses the Mediatrix C711 for legacy PSTN replacement. The problem we face is echo on the line when using the AVAYA. If we...

    Earthing IP500 Control Unit

Thank you all for your advice - I will go ahead and ground it anyways - costs nought

    Earthing IP500 Control Unit

The cabinet is wall-mounted so not earthed. The IP500 is earthed via the 3-Core main supply. The trunk-lines are in fact anologue. My question is, is that enough (grounded by default with the mains cord)?

    Earthing IP500 Control Unit

In the opinions of the legends on this forum - is it of any benefit to earth the chassis of the control unit, when the power-cord is already earthed, and if not, why does AVAYA provide that Earth-nut?

    "No Licence Available"

Ahhhh thank you. It shows 60 endpoints with a "congestion count" of 8... Another related question. I read somewhere that there are endpoint licenses included with VCM licenses at a ratio of 1 to 3. I have a spare "VCM32" card. Can I just plug that in and get any more "endpoint" licenses?

    "No Licence Available"

Thanks for the clarification. so to be clear this system will only support 60 phones (plus 2 grace connections i am guessing as their are 62 working phones right now) as their are only 60 "Avaya IP endpoint" instances licensed? Thank you

    "No Licence Available"

I googled "Avaya IP Endpoints" and it seems they are for "Third-party" endpoints. So surely the Vaya 1608 phones are not licensed by that license? How do I tell how many Avaya phones the system will support?

    "No Licence Available"

Thank you for taking the time to respond! As stated I believe the firmware version is 6.0 (14) as that is what it says in the status monitor I am trying to connect 72 phones (all 1608's or 1616's) It says 60 in the "instances" of the "Virtual Avaya IP Endpoints" Does that mean I can only...

    "No Licence Available"

Hello! Am not an Avaya-aware techi, just general support. We have an ip office 500 for many years and have just purchased 10 new 1608 handsets. we are getting "No Licence Available" that bounces around depending on who connects last (i guess). So I loaded up the System Status and gleaned the...
