Hopefully I can get some quick remedies on this problem. After applying all critical and security updates to a w2k machine, there are severe problems in tryingto save a file in excel. Trying to execute this routine results in the application crashing. A 'File-Save' results in an instant crash...
Pauldr,
I'm experiencing the same problem on the W2K machines at work and like you've also said, I don't know if removing the kb will resolve the issue. Can anyone also let me know of any fix for this particular symptom?
Hi Learned Friends,
I've this problem with an IE where a rogue URL keeps replacing the default homepage. I've run HijackThis and its picked up all the rogue entries in the registry. I deleted what I figured would be the culprits (including the hosts file) and rebooted only to find that the...
Hi Itsmyfault,
Many thanks for that helpful info. I'd figured there was some sort of compression on archiving but didn't have any figures to back up any recommendations. I'll also check out the support site for more detail.
Many thanks once again.
'Crayzie for Christ.
We currently run Groupwise 5.5 and I'm considering setting up archive paths for all users mailboxes (20-30 user environment). Before I do this, I'd like to know how much disk space is required for the archive database and how quickly this will fill up. Are the database files compressed when the...
Hello All,
Dunno if someone can shed some insight into this issue. I've a friend who runs XP on his pc at home. He's finding it difficult to do anything at all on his pc. Currently, simply opening an application or trying to work within an application has a response time of infinity. My feeling...
Also I've just checked and we can't upgrade to NT4 because of the specs of the server (pretty old sluggard I must say). It's a Prioris XL5133 and it's the memory that is preventing us from possibly upgrading.
Anyway I hope we're able to find a way around the issue.
Thx

Pvanos,
Sorry 'bout the delay in the reply to your question. I was off work yesterday and wan't avaliable at the weekend either. The NT 3.51 box currently runs WinFrame 1.7. I'm not sure how an upgrade too NT4 will impact on the functionality of the application. Any suggestions? I'll meanwhile...
Vanos,
I'm actually highlighting the BDC before clicking on Computer. I found it pretty strange myself. Don't know if this means much but the icon for the BDC in the list is greyed out too. I'm hoping to attack it afresh on monday. Let's keep on keeping on.

Vanos,
I tried your suggestion but hit a brick wall straight away. The option to promote the BDC is greyed out. I believe I need to give the rights for this to happen from the PDC however I'm not familiar with the in NT 3.51 which is what the PDC runs. Any pointers please?
