I had the same problem and BuGlen's answer worked beautifully.

We got it, it was actually something really stupid. We solved the problem looking a the installation log file. The machine that we were installing the program had a date of 2003 and this screwed the installation. After putting the right date we reinstalled and everthing is fine now.

At the company I work we just installed the blackberry server and all the services start except for the server service. It throws an error "5408" without any useful information. Anyone had this problem or has any Ideas?? Thanks in advance.
