Seems there are issues with security and users on a win2000server server. Is my security file corrupt? No policies that I know were ever put in place. Win 98 machines cannot connec tin any way, no internet/email, although the main connection is working. Found and removed backdoor.hackdefender...
It's a generic FMP5.5 Server runnig on a windows 2000 advanced server, internet connection is via isdn through a router. Here's what I would like to happen - using a laptop with FM Pro, connecting to the Server via cellular modem.
Require access to a FM5 database over a telephone connection - Can this be done via VPN on a Windows 2000 Advanced Server server? Any help is appreciated.
Being a rookie, it's best for me to describe what we have here (I came into this environment, as opposed to developed it)
We have a typical manufacturing business with seperate Filemaker modules for quotes, customers, products, invoicing, vendors, etc. These files are on a Win 200 Adv Server box...

FMP Rookie again.
Using FMP Server 5.5, I need to add & modify passwords for specific databases. I can't get access privileges on the shared files, nobody is accessing the files, does FMP allow some sort of file limits that are defined elsewhere to then allow access privilege options?

Any help is...
Using what comes with Win 2000 Advanced Server, I know it's in the ISA Management Console area, as I have been in there before sometime ago, I can't remember where I right clicked to add a new port setting.
Your advice is well given, and noted, I simply need to get a download for a now defunct accounting software program - hence the need to be able to close the port immediately as well
Trying to make changes to a website. I cant view the changes made because I am getting cached files off the server on my workstation although there are no files cached locally. Any idea where I can go to turn off or at least find/delet the cached files on the server?
Stan, ironically received a voicemail from FileMaker about the same time I read your response and that is the only solution they offer, pay $500us for FMP Server 5.5 to keep pace with iexlorer 6 (which is not cutting edge software to begin with) I am going to raise hell first, paying $500 to...
