Sounds like you have to redine the arrays - you can download and burn the IBM SUPPORT CD and documentation from http://www-306.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-39723. Once you have redefined the arrays you should be able to reinstall your O/S.
There is a fuse in the power supply - usually if it blows you end up replacing the power supply. IF you are working on a few different machines that all have the same problem you would be well advised to buy a good 300 plus watt powersupply, gauranteed that one of your machines has a dead one.
Couple of things. First, hardware info is very important as different manufacturers use different error messages. Second, check your BIOS to see if your HDD is recognized, it sounds like your HDD failed or else, as mentioned, your CMOS battery has died resulting in your HDD not being set up in...
By "it will not boot" do you mean that the HDD is not recognized or that it "blue screens" when you try to boot. If it blue screens (most likely problem) it is because the HAL is different from one machine to the next, XP is very hardware sensitive. What you have to do to correct this is do an...
Your post does not say if you are using CDR's or CDRW's. CDR's are by nature read only, once the file is written to a cdr it cannot be rewritten - CDRW's on the other hand work like floppies if you format them correctly (ie Direct CD)
BTW - networking the systems is very simple, you only need to...
It certainly sounds like a PSU problem or else a power brown out, is there maybe something starting during the day (an electric motor?) that could be causing a drop in power on that circut?
If you boot from the XP disk and start the installl you can remove the current partition and create a new one which you will then have to format, XP gives you the choice of NTFS or FAT32.
Go to http://www-306.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-39723, it will explain how to download a bootable disk that allows you to define a RAID and also has the drivers for win2k server to see the raid controller.

This is the driver for XP Pro - it worked for me ... should work with the IBM RAID 3L or 4L, your system should have one or the other.
Good luck. BTW, what are you using the server for?
Does anyone know of a good POS that will integrate with QuickBooks Pro that will also be able properly handle serial numbers?
Also - does anyone have any experience with Microsoft's Point of Sale software?
Before you install an o/s and get it all set up with your data etc, you should do some research on RAID. You can configure the 5 drives to look like anywhere from one drive to 5 drives, depending on what you want to do. RIAD is a system that sets up more than one drive in such a way that if one...
Did you go into the BIOS and check if the secondary master was set as AUTO or as CD-ROM?
Also, I would try and see if the old drive will detect when it is connected as the master on the secondary channel without anything else connected. If not then try it on the primary IDE as the master and see...
Sounds like your hard drive is starting to go south, I have seen this problem with a number of Maxtor drives. Eventually the drive will not be recognized by the system. I would try running the system with a different drive, see if that solves your problem.
In order to make this work properly your TV has to have S-Video inputs. ATI has a write up on their website that explains how to make this work.
Also, some of the Toshiba's had a composite video out as well as a S-Video, if you use the composite out then you can connect to a TV with composite...
