I too have a similar issue with one of my users...the boss. We are tying to access our framework (v4.2) via the Windows Tivoli Desktop from his machine and are only able to log in via 'root' but not using his assigned Unix ID.
When trying to log in via my laptop using either root or his user...
Not sure if this helps. But we are using Norton PF 2003 here and this is what we had to do to get the client to do its thing (local IP):
Permit outbound TCP/UDP access for lcfd.exe (located in C:\Program Files\Tivoli\lcf\bin\w32-ix86\mrt) to any computer on remote port 9494
Permit inbound...
