If you are using jpegs, then FP can compress for you, but not as good as a proper optimizer. choose picture properties and on right hand side where the jpeg is checked you can play around with the default setting of 75
Front Page automatically compresses jpgs to 75%, so if you have already compressed them, they will get compressed even more. Right click on images and select picture properties, under the general tab on the right you will see compression set for 75%, change it to 100% and see if it makes any...
Hi, you would be wise to get rid of applet hover buttons altogether. You need a mouse-over script. You will have to make two identically sized image. There are loads of tutorials out there, but I have found for beginners this one is a lot easier to understand than most...
IE recognizes topmargin and leftmargin, while NS looks for marginwidth and marginheight. If you want margins for both browsers to look the same use the following code altering the zero to whatevr you want. You dont have to change your compatibility to do this asyou will be coding by hand...
yes, your compatability has changed, tools/page options/compatability make sure IE is checked, you wont get the margins tab if you choose netscape as well.
Okay, I have now changed the way I put sound on the page, so soon you wont be able to see the example on my site. But if anyone knows the answer please let me know. Thanks
Thanks Tracy, but no the usual void code does not work, this is why beatnik came up with the other code. Unfortunately I am getting no response from beatnik. What happens is because the "no link" has to be attached to the <a href, when it is clicked on the browser sees no point in...
Does anyone have Beatnik player installed AND a connection of 28.8 or 56k? No faster. I have some rmf bird songs and if the play/stop button is clicked before the page has downloaded then everything stops downloading and you have to refresh the page to get the sound. I dont particularly want to...
Microsoft recomment a windows based server for FrontPage as there can be problems. Although many people have their FrontPage webs hosted by Unix and say they have never had a problem. However all file and page names should be in lower case with no spaces between. If you go to www.jimcoaddins.com...
Actually it has been proved that spaces in a file name can cause compatability problems with netscape, also some search engines dont like spaces between file names this is why jimco gives a free add in to remove the spaces in file names and replace them with an underscore. You can get this free...
I dont know if there is a "correct" way to do this, but items I wish people to download, I just set up an ordinary link but using the words "please download this file - right click and "save target as..." I know there is javascript you can use for download, but havent...
Firstly Front Page hover buttons are applets and notoriously unreliable quite often playing up when live. I have now changed over to javascript, less coding, less memory and reliable.
But if you still use the hover buttons have you tried right clicking on the button and opening up the hover...
Not sure about that, but check out tools/page options/html code down the bottom somewhere you can tell FP how many line spaces you want between each tag, maybe one of the tags shows 20 spaces or something!?
