I cannot agree more. If you remove the DC from the remote site and the remote site has problem authenticating you are going to spend more time troubleshooting the problem than it would take just to leave a DC and maintain it. Good Luck

It has been awhile since I have played with backup exec but I know many other backup programs allow you to keep the catalog on another drive on the same server. Check the manual and I will bet that Veritas has allowed for the same thing.

I am using the 8000 on NT4 with sp6 (while not exact, close) I might be able to help. Can you give details...i.e. does your scsi card see it on boot, does NT see it? Basically define fails to load.
