My many question is really if the a local Win2k machine fails to contact its primary DNS, does it automatically contact the secondary. I probably does, but I thought I read somewhere that it doesn't ??

Hi,
If anyone can help with this issue, that would be great.
I have two Win2k PC's on a LAN set up as a client-server (one Server running 192.168.1.1, one running Professional 192.168.1.2). They are linked to a internet gateway device (192.168.1.10). The Server is acting as a DHCP server and a...
I only have one NIC running on the server.
I tried key in the keying in the DNS server as the primary, and the ISP as the secondary. The router was already set up as the gateway. Still no change on the original issue.
If you have anymore ideas, please, you help would be great!

Both Machines are hooked up to a gateway router for internet access.
The Server has the gateway router as Primary, and a external DNS server of my ISP for secondary.
The Client (from DHCP) gets issued same DNS settings.
Thanks for the prompt reply Hewissa
